Swimwear SS20: What I'm buying for SS20!

Every tried to frantically buy swimwear when it's suddenly forecast to get hot or when you book that last minute holiday only to find there's nothing left in your size??  Or worse, you find the cutest 'mix and match' bikini briefs - add to your basket, then find that the matching top is 'out of stock' in your size?  This always used to happen to me and it's why I now buy my swimwear way in advance of any real high temperatures in February or March at the very latest!

I used to buy one or two pieces of swimwear per season and would usually stick to pretty simple classic styles.  However, swimwear has boomed over the past few years and your pool side look has become as important as any other outfit choice and lets face it, if you're anything like me and spend a lot of time in your swimwear in the summer - why shouldn't it be?!

I work in fashion and spend a lot of time web store surfing getting style inspiration.  I've managed to narrow down my swimwear looks for this season and have listed my favourite styles below:

This ribbed button up swimsuit by & Other Stories is an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE!  This lilac colour is so hot for Spring Summer 2020!

I'm loving both of these gorgeous Mono Dot swimsuit and bikini combinations by Asos

I'm in my mid 30's and have had two children so i'm loving any high waist bikini bottoms or swimsuits that don't totally cover you up.  What's also great about this bikini and swimsuit combo is that they are made from recycled materials and are part of Asos's responsible edit.  Shop in style and sustainably!

Recycled Material Bikini to and bottom by Arket.

I love doing yoga and pilates outside in the summer and load of retailers, including this style by Arket, are offering training style bikinis - great for gentle poolside yoga!

For anyone a bit more daring, this crinkle elasticated bikini mix and match set by Pretty Little Thing also makes a great workout/swimwear combination.

Rushed Maternity swimsuit in mono gingham by Asos.

Gingham halter neck swimsuit by & Other Stories.

Gingham is so big right now and swimwear is no exception.  It doesn't matter where you shop you're sure to find a gingham option by your favourite retailer!  I am loving the Asos maternity option as well as this cute halter neck style by & Other Stories.

Valetta Swimsuit in navy by Boden.

I love being in the sun and could spend all day in either the pool or the sea while on holiday.  While I do cover up with factor 50 SPF I am conscious of the sun and the damage it does to our skin.  Long sleeve swimsuits are becoming more and more accessible and I love the simplicity of this one by Boden.

White Tropical Print Plus Size bikini by Missguided.

I'm not always a massive fan of busy prints but this cute tropical bikini by Missguided has me sold and again I'm loving the slightly higher waist bikini briefs.

Recycled skinny strap V-Neck Thong Swimsuit by Asos.

You can't ignore the huge comeback thong swimsuits are having right now.  I think if you are going to try a thong style for the first time play it safe with a simple swimsuit silhouette like this one by Asos.

Black lobby Mesh oversized T-shirt by Misguided.

Finally, no swimwear edit can be complete without a cover up solution and I absolutely love this polka sot mesh oversized t-shirt by Misguided.
